LEGAL
Terms & Conditions
These terms govern your use of Su Tung. They are written to be read, so they are short and in plain English.
Last updated 28 July 2026
What Su Tung is
Su Tung is a research tool operated by Su Tung Research Limited, a company incorporated in Hong Kong (“we”, “us”). It lets you search a mirror of publicly available Hong Kong court judgments and put a structured question to the cases that match, returning a findings report.
By creating an account or using the service you accept these terms. If you are using Su Tung for an employer or client, you confirm you are authorised to accept them on that party’s behalf.
Not legal advice
Su Tung provides research assistance, not legal advice. Using it does not create a solicitor–client relationship and nothing it produces is privileged.
You remain responsible for verifying every proposition against the official judgment before relying on it, citing it, or putting it in front of a court, a regulator, or a client.
Your account
Accounts are personal. Keep your credentials secure, do not share them, and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed by someone else.
You are responsible for all activity carried out under your account. We may suspend or close an account that is in breach of these terms.
Acceptable use
You agree not to: extract our judgment collection in bulk or redistribute or resell it; attempt to identify parties whose details are subject to a reporting restriction or anonymity order; circumvent quotas, rate limits, or access controls; probe or disrupt the service; or use Su Tung for any unlawful purpose.
Automated access outside the interfaces we provide requires our written agreement.
Judgment sources
Judgment text is mirrored from the Legal Reference System of the Hong Kong Judiciary. We claim no rights in that text, and nothing in these terms affects any copyright or other right subsisting in it.
The official record published by the Judiciary governs. Our mirror may lag behind it, and a judgment may be amended, restricted, or withdrawn after we have copied it.
AI-generated output
Analysis and reports are generated by third-party large language models. Such models can misread a passage, omit a qualification, or state something confidently and wrongly.
We do not warrant that any output is accurate, complete, or current, and we do not review it before you see it. Treat it as a starting point for your own reading, never as a finished work product.
Intellectual property
We retain all rights in the Su Tung software, interface, and search index. You retain all rights in the questions, research plans, and settings you create and in the reports generated for you.
You grant us only the licence needed to host, process, and store your material for the purpose of operating the service.
Availability, quotas and fair use
The service is provided on a best-efforts basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability and may take it down for maintenance.
Accounts carry usage quotas covering searches, analyses, and reports. We may adjust quotas, change features, or discontinue parts of the service, and will give reasonable notice where it is practical to do so.
Limitation of liability
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law.
We are not liable for any loss arising from reliance on output produced by the service, for lost profits or business, or for indirect or consequential loss. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is capped at the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury, or fraud.
Changes and governing law
We may change these terms; the date above will be updated when we do, and material changes will be notified in the app. Continuing to use Su Tung after a change means you accept the revised terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and the courts of Hong Kong have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
