What the library holds

A certified snapshot of Hong Kong judgments and of current legislation in both authentic languages — not a live feed, and not a substitute for the official record.

The library is our copy of two public sources, kept as one certified snapshot.

Judgments come from the Hong Kong Judiciary's Legal Reference System. Legislation comes from Hong Kong e-Legislation: ordinances, subsidiary legislation and instruments, current consolidated version, in English and Traditional Chinese.

Research runs against that snapshot, not against the live websites. A judgment handed down this morning may not be in it yet. Where our copy and the official record differ, theirs is the one that counts.

What the page is for

The library is the place to see how many documents we hold, from which courts and years, whether search by meaning is ready, and whether the snapshot is certified for research. Every case links back to its HKLRS record. Every provision links back to e-Legislation.

It is not a substitute for opening the judgment, and it is not legal advice. No solicitor–client relationship exists.
