What Fast mode actually does

Fast mode is the live product. You ask a legal question in chat. The agent searches a certified copy of Hong Kong judgments and of Hong Kong legislation, reads the authorities that bear on the question, verifies the passages it will rely on, and answers in the same conversation — or asks one clarification.

Search is not the answer. A citation in the reply is supposed to come from a verified read, not from a search snippet.

How search works

Search runs over both sources, and it works on the legal words and citations in the text. That is the route to trust, and it is the one that runs.

Search by meaning is built, but it is switched off. It was measured before the relevance threshold held at corpus scale, and it tended to add candidates that were not on point. If it is ever switched on, treat those extras as noise to be narrowed, not as recall to be trusted.

Legislation is today's text

The legislation in the library is the current consolidated version from Hong Kong e-Legislation, in English and Traditional Chinese. There is no point-in-time history. Fast mode must not claim what a provision said on a past date.

What you get, and what you do not

You get an answer in chat, with case numbers linking to the Legal Reference System and provisions cited as Cap. N s. M with their e-Legislation URLs — from verified reads.

It is not a lawyer, and it does not produce a multi-judgment findings report you approve case by case. Those paths are not on the hosted surface.

Nothing it produces is a substitute for opening the official record.
